The Tonya R. Horsey Scholarship Excellence in Humanitarian Service Fund

The Scholarship sponsored by Ingrid Fisher Director of KEYS Program Services in honor of her friend Tonya Horsey. For KEYS Students majoring in Human Services or Nursing. With the mission to save lives and alleviate suffering.

Tonya Renee Horsey was born on August 5, 1967, in Philadelphia, PA. She graduated from Murrell Dobbins Area Vocational Technical School (AVTS) – thereafter earning her cosmetology license, a career she worked for at least a decade.

Tonya married and was the mother of two children. Her oldest son took classes during the summer as a visiting student at Montco to be on track for graduation from Liberty University. He works at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia while completing a graduate program in Fall 2021. His goal is to attend medical school to be a pediatric doctor. Her daughter has special needs, and this was the catalyst for her transition into the human services and health care industries. During this time, she also became a foster parent.

Tonya has always valued education and encouraged children and adults to continue their education. Although she was not able to earn her degree due to her untimely death, Tonya would be honored to have a scholarship in her name. Her family and friends as well.
