The James E. Carroll Memorial Criminal Justice Scholarship Fund

The James E. Carroll Memorial Criminal Justice Scholarship Fund, established in 2014 by J Martin and Cynthia Carroll, was created in memory of James E. Carroll.

James Carroll taught at Montgomery County Community College from 1972 to 1982. After serving as a B-17 pilot with the U.S. Air Force in World War II and completing 35 missions, Jim went on to complete his college degree at Syracuse University. Jim joined the FBI in 1950 and served as an agent completing his FBI career as the Special Agent in Charge of the 5 counties outside Philadelphia. During his tenure as an FBI agent, Jim also taught at police academies including the Pennsylvania State Police. As a result of his interest and experience in teaching, Jim joined the faculty of MCCC in 1972 and was integral in creating the College’s Criminal Justice Program. He always enjoyed his interaction with students and mentored many on their way to successful studies and careers. He loved golf and was happy to have a professor’s schedule that allowed for some golf games in the summer.

To honor James Carroll’s dedication and professionalism as a teacher and a person this Scholarship was formed to help students interested in Criminal Justice pursue their studies and pursue a career in Law Enforcement benefiting our Society.
