The Jacqueline R. Garay Future Nursing Leader Scholarship Fund, established in 2021 by Stephen M. Garay, was created in memory of his mother Jacqueline (Jackie) Garay

Jackie started her nursing career as a teenager at a local nursing home, where she found her passion for medicine and helping those in all stages of sickness. She made a difference in people’s lives by maintaining a warm candor throughout her career working in hospitals, nursing homes, home health care, and pediatrics. Jackie would always take the time to listen to patients and make sure they knew that their concern mattered. As hectic as the nursing profession can be at times, the passion for helping people should always be your guiding light.
