Kevin A. Baird Memorial Scholarship

The Kevin A. Baird Memorial Scholarship, established in 2018 by Rosemary Baird, was created in memory of her Husband, Kevin Baird

Kevin discovered his passion for Economics and Finance while a first-year student at Montco. After receiving his bachelor’s degree he spent a few years in Banking as a Commercial Lender. He then entered graduate school and received his MBA. Kevin began his career at Montco in 1986 and loved sharing his enthusiasm for Economics with his students. He did not just follow the text book, he often included lessons that focused on current news events that would illustrate how Economics played a role in everyday life. He could not go anyplace in Montgomery County, over his 33-year career, that he would not run into a current or former student. Many told him that they were working in the financial field and that he made a true difference in their lives.

Outside of Montco, Kevin was a pilot and an avid scuba diver. At the beginning of each semester, he would share many of his photographs of sharks and tropical fish from his many underwater adventures.
